An artistic collaboration and improvisation with world-famous cellist Georgy Gusev and our Uplift Aerial Artists.
Georgy Gusev was born in a small town in the South Urals of Russia, in the family of a professional boxer and art historian.
After graduating in cello from the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, in 2010 Georgy moved to Italy to study and obtain the diploma of the specialization course with Giovanni Sollima at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia. In this period his interests did not end with the cello alone. At the same time, he studies composition and conducting, the art of documentary film. From 2011 to 2021 he founded and held the annual “Masters of Music” festival in Moscow.
After his debut as a composer and cellist at Carnegie Hall in New York in 2018 he moved to the United States, where he founded a music agency in San Diego, California. The bankruptcy of the agency in 2020 for reasons related to covid-19 pandemic forced Georgy to move to Hawai’i, on the island of Maui, where during the period of isolation he wrote music for various theater productions: “Sound of the Mill”, “Industrial Symphony”, “Deconstructed Opera”.
In 2021, working on his first documentary “Music of Cells”, Georgy returned to Moscow. However, after the outbreak of war in Ukraine, for political reasons, he was forced to leave Russia again.
He currently resides between Italy and Hawai’i performing solo concerts, teaching cello masterclasses and working for several ballet productions as a composer.
